5/22/2015-Madeline A Vavricek’s graduation party
I had the honor of being maddie vav’s #foyerphotographer for a couple hours saturday night and it was such a blast! Every little corner of their house was tastefully decorated with a nautical color scheme, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves in good humored conversation, the sound of smooth jazz filled the air, and they had-hands down-the best raspberry lemonade I’ve ever had. But above all, spending 3 hours in the foyer with the woman of the (3) hour(s), Maddie Vavricek, was the best part of the whole night. Watching her greet her guests with a full smile and genuine kindness, I was once again reminded how beautiful of a trait kindness is on a person.
Being kind has somehow become a “lost art form”, replaced with pseudo kindness–used only when it seems beneficial to oneself. People have become accustomed to being afraid of being kind, for they believe that they will somehow be disadvantaged. While I think I am a kind person, my friends have dubbed me as being “too soft for the world”. Since when did being kind equate to being soft? Does that mean that kind people won’t ever make it in “the big scary world”? These are questions I do not know the answer to. What I do know, however, is that a little act of kindness can go a long way.
Class of 2015 graduates, congratulations! You’ve made it this far, but there is so much more out there in the world for you. New opportunities, new friends, new loves, new adventures. Always keep your dreams bigger than your fears, and stay golden always.
